More than a perfect meal

I love Thanksgiving. Every year my husband and I open our home to anyone who would like to come and join us. Our Thanksgivings are sit-down, even with 20-plus guests. Everyone brings something to make the meal uniquely special. My husband always fixes the turkey and I serve the food. I try to imagine the cold winter months in New England and how this holiday would have been lost if the American Indians had said, "Sorry, we only have enough for our family." For me Thanksgiving is a time to open the doors and welcome people in.

Usefulness, cooperation, harmony, spontaneity, humility, beauty, abundance, selflessness, patience, joy, trust, thoughtfulness are just a few of the many spiritual qualities we enjoy each year. And every year is unique.
