HEALED OF HEART MURMUR

At various points in my childhood and when I was a teenager, I suffered from rheumatic fever, tonsillitis, kidney infections, appendicitis, and a cyst. Then when I was 19, I was introduced to Christian Science by the man I was dating at the time. I began attending the local Christian Science church and Sunday School, and my life changed.

I experienced my first healing through Christian Science when consistent colds that I'd experienced for some time vanished. I remember so clearly finding this statement in Science and Health, which brought immediate release from the condition: "When the fear subsides and the conviction abides that you have broken no law, neither rheumatism, consumption, nor any other disease will ever result from exposure to the weather" (p. 384).

I made a habit of studying the Christian Science Bible Lesson each day, and the lesons my Sunday School teacher assigned helped me elevate my thought. None of the physical issues that I had experienced up to that point ever came back, and as I studied and prayed, the reassuring words of the weekly Bible Lessons invigorated me, as I added to my storehouse a new vocabulary that brought health.
