RIDING A HORSE? God keeps you safe!

I live on a small farm, and I've been riding my horse, Rubi, about two years at riding lessons and 4-H. At first you have to learn riding on a saddle. Then when you're better, you can ride bareback. I don't really like to canter or trot very much when I am riding bareback.

One evening I was practicing riding bareback at home with my older sister, Jessica. I was riding Rubi. At the very end of our ride, we decided to canter a little. I tried to get Rubi to canter, but it did not work well, so Jessica slapped Rubi on the bottom with her long reins. Rubi started to go really fast and buck. I held on to her mane. When we were almost at our barn, I fell off when she came to a sudden stop. Jessica came fast and helped me up. I went to Rubi and petted her on the nose. Then I went back to the house. I had a few scrapes on my back and felt like I was going to turn into mush. I told my mom about it. I had learned in Sunday School that God is good and He loves me. I expected God to make sure I was all right.

In the night my head hurt bad and I vomited. I asked my mom to call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me, because I like to be prayed for to know I'm all right and I'm God's child. I remembered that God's all-powerful and that I was His spiritual reflection.
