QUICK HEALING OF BURNS AND PAIN

One summer day I walked outside to sit in the sun and then prepare dinner. I was feeling so happy to be up and about, since I'd been praying about an ankle injury. I'd had many healings through Christian Science and was confident that I would this time, too. The pain that accompanied the injury was now gone, and although I was not yet walking with complete freedom, I was feeling the blessing that comes from a deeper understanding of God's spiritual creation.

Then, to ready the smoker to cook our dinner, I poured on the charcoal lighter. I was about to light it when my husband offered to help. As he poured on more fluid, I protested that I could handle it. He was concerned that, because of my ankle, I might not be able to step back fast enough from the flames. But in frustration I took the matches and lit the fluid.

The flames burst out quickly and brushed my hands and forearms, singeing off the hair and blackening the polish on my fingernails. He'd been right—it was difficult for me to step back. The pain was intense, and I began to be afraid as my hands and arms started to swell.
