FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN

In considering the keenly debated topic of spiritual healthcare for children, it's helpful, even essential, to look at the basis for such reliance, in particular as it relates to Christian Science healing.

Prayer in Christian Science follows Jesus' example, and has an impressive record of healing. What many parents have found is that the application of systematic, scientific prayer offers the best care they can find—and the experiences recorded in the pages of this magazine prove that.

Jesus showed how receptive children are to spiritual healing. For example, through prayer alone, he healed an epileptic boy (see Matt. 17:14–18) and the daughter of a Syrophoenician woman (see Mark 7:24–30); he raised from the dead the 12-year-old daughter of Jairus (see Luke 8:41, 42, 49–56) and, without actually being present, revived a nobleman's son who was near death (see John 4:46–53).
