You can ask God!

My name is Fabiano, and I'm in the seventh grade. I live in Curitiba, the capital of the State of Parana in Brazil. I have been studying Christian Science for two years in the Christian Science Sunday School ir Curitiba. I like to read the Bible because it tells stories that show the power of God.

I was a very nervous person before I learned about Christian Science. I was fighting a lot in school, and I felt anxious in my classes. Also, I would skip words when I needed to read out loud.

Ever since I've been going to Sunday School, I'm calm, and I don't skip words as much as I used to. Now I read well, without being shy.

I also used to get extremely nervous during school exams. One day, during a math test, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it in time, because there were a lot of questions. I was already agreeing with this sad thought, when I remembered the story of Solomon in the Bible. There God says to Solomon, "Ask what I shall give thee" (I Kings 3:5). And instead of asking for fame, power, and riches, Solomon asks God for wisdom and understanding. As I thought about this, I felt encouraged to finish the test! Later, when I got the results, I saw I had received the highest grade possible. I was so happy. Since then, whenever I have any doubts about whether I can do something, I think about the story of Solomon.

I also like this in Science and Health: "... man is not material; he is spiritual" (p. 468). I'm learning that in the kingdom of God, we are all spiritual. And knowing this helps us live better.
