ANYONE CAN BE A HEALER

'SHOW ME THE WAY'

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE has always been a part of my daily life, even as a child. I remember seeing my dad every morning in the den, reading the Christian Science Bible Lesson and praying. Then at breakfast, our entire family would read at least one section of the Lesson and pray the Daily Prayer together. This prayerful time was an integral part of my day and helped me prepare for the tasks ahead. Our family experienced many healings through prayer, and practicing Christian Science was a way of life we embraced.

Music has also always been an important part of my daily activity. I began piano lessons as a young child, and studied music and taught lessons through high school and college. I wanted to share my love of music and performance with others. So when my husband and I were setting into our first home, I opened a piano studio. This developed into a long career in studio teaching, with many opportunities to share the joys of music and the skills of performing.

As a studio teacher, I always began my day with prayer and study in Christian Science, and I worked to apply the spiritual lessons I learned to my daily experiences. I took Christian Science Primary class instruction (a 12-day course) before I was married, which not only helped provide a solid metaphysical base for marriage but also prepared me for occasional opportunities to help others through prayer. This seemed such a natural and joyful thing to do.
