'COME AND SEE THE WORKS OF GOD'

Because next week's Kids' Sentinel won't include a Bible Lesson column, we're providing two in this issue.

THE GOLDEN TEXT for this week's Christian Science Bible Lesson, titled "God the Only Cause and Creator," urges readers to "come and see the works of God" (Ps. 66:5). You can't miss the fact that the verbs come and see are both in the imperative mood.

In The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible the Hebrew word for come, as used in the Golden Text, is yalak. The Hebrew and Chaldee dictionary at the back of the concordance includes the words grow, lead forth, and prosper, besides the word come. The root of the word yalak is "to walk." The translation of the word see in the same dictionary includes such verbs as discern, perceive, and respect.
