A LETTER FROM CHARLOTTE IN CALIFORNIA

I live with my mom, dad, and sister, Loraine, on a horse ranch in Desert Hot Springs, California. I'm 12 years old, and I'm homeschooled. My hometown is special because it's in a remote area. I live on 20 acres. I like living on a ranch because I'm as free as a bird!!!

My dad works on construction sites, and my mom is a horse trainer. I've been riding and caring for horses for as long as I can remember. And I show them as well.

In case you don't know what happens at a horse show, I'll tell you a little about it. When we first get to a horse show, we spend some time riding the horses to get them used to the show grounds. Then we bathe them and band their manes so they look nice for their classes.
