RECOGNIZING SPIRITUAL BEAUTY REMOVES UGLY GROWTH

A few years back, a growth developed on the side of my nose. It was healed through prayer alone.

This growth had become large and very ugly. I would pray about it from time to time, but nothing changed. There were suggestions from friends and strangers that I could buy some medicine, or have it removed by a doctor. Since I'd explored many such healing methods in the past, before learning about Christian Science, and had lost all confidence in them, I never considered those suggestions an option. But Christian Science had made complete sense to me, and I'd had many healings from praying in the way it teaches.

On occasion I accompanied my mother to medical appointments, and one time the physician remarked, "I could remove that growth from your nose." I was advised it was the kind of growth that would not go away on its own—that it could only be removed surgically. I thanked him and told him I felt strongly that it would go away. He laughed in a friendly way and said, "You'll be back."
