ITEMS OF INTEREST
RICHMOND COMMUNITY COLLEGE [Hamlet, North Carolina] hosted a religious diversity forum [April 2] at Cole Auditorium to focus on how people can peacefully coexist in a multifaith society. The forum was sponsored by RCC's Diversity Committee, and featured representatives of Christianity, Islam, Christian Science, Zoroastrianism, and Baha'i.
Ken Tan represented the Southern Baptist perspective, Canquzel Zulfikar and Shaukat Iftakhar the Muslim, Farida Divcha the Zoroastrian, Cythia Barnett the Christian Science, and Masoud Ahdieh the Baha'i....
Overall, the panel included natives of the Philippines, India, Turkey, Pakistan, and New York. The focus of the panel was to discuss the root of interfaith conflict.
