HEALED OF THE EFFECTS OF A FALL AND SHORTNESS OF BREATH

One day early last summer, I was sitting in the sun on our side veranda. Since I was feeling too warm, I decided to go out into the yard and cool off in the shade.

As I stepped out the back door, I lost my balance, and found myself flying through the air across the cement patio. I fell hard on the cement, right on my spine. Immediately I affirmed that I was safe and remembered this familiar line from Science and Health: "Accidents are unknown to God . . ." (p. 424).

At the time, I wasn't feeling a great deal of pain, even though there seemed to be something out of place in my back. I was able to get up and prepare for my shift in the local Christian Science Reading Room, Since I was to serve there within the hour
