LAST MONTH several newspapers and magazines (among them, The Wall Street Journal of March 9, 2007) drew attention to a survey jointly conducted by the World Health Organization and Harvard Medical School. The study, based on more than 60,000 face-to-face interviews worldwide, found that the United States has the highest rate of depression among 14 countries.
