THE 'STILL, SMALL VOICE' OF TRUTH—ALWAYS AT HAND

In 2005 I moved to Bhutan, a tiny kingdom set high in the Himalayas, to volunteer as an English teacher. However, by the end of the year, it appeared that lack of funds would preclude my being able to stay.

I turned to God to understand better what He was seeing about my situation. My answer came in the conviction that I was His dearly loved daughter, blessed with all that I needed. It was difficult to accept that God's plan for me over the next year might not keep me in Bhutan, but I refused to accept that He had anything less than something wonderful in store for me. Each day, despite financial challenges and the uncertainty of my future, I prayed with these words from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation ..." (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468). I knew this spiritual fact was the basis of my inspiration and guidance.

Although I very much wanted to remain in Bhutan, it was more important to me to be obedient to God. I handed in my resignation at the school where I was working and began searching for job opportunities in my home country of Australia. By taking these small steps, I felt I was honestly and truly letting go of any human will about my future and listening only to God.
