"SHE'S JUST a little bundle of energy!" was the proud father's description of his child.

His words reminded me of a comment by a doctor friend. He'd been exploring ideas in Mary Baker Eddy's book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. And he was wrestling with the book's unrelenting rejection of matter. After all, his work involved a daily hands-on experience with material human bodies!

Then an idea dawned on him one day while taking a walk. He might have already been intrigued by the popular idea that the substance of matter has more to do with an "energy field" than simply the stuff we pick up and hold in our hands. He thought, "What if the book is right? Maybe real energy is spiritual instead of material."
