NEGOTIATING THE BLOGOSPHERE

IT'S WORTH NOTING that although Web logs, or "blogs," haven't been around for more than about six years, the Technorati site (an Internet search engine that monitors blogs) tracks 35.3 million of them and reports that the numbers are doubling every six months. And a Pew Internet and American Life Project has estimated that 25 percent of Internet users now read blogs, and 9 percent write one, even if sometimes carelessly constructed and not well researched.
