'HIT THE TARGET'

Kiatezua Luyaluka's article, "Nothing can resist my prayer" ["Safe from Contagion," November 14, 2005], was timely for me. His Christian Science approach to praying against witchcraft hit the larget. To realize that the "attackers" know, as God's children, that sin brings suffering was new to me. This I will add to my own prayers to defeat this seeming power.

Great! An African approach to Christian Science healing!

HOPE AND NOURISHMENT

I am very thankful for your good work and especially for the January 9 issue ["Intelligent design?"]. It gave me hope and nourishment because I am currently working out a big physical challenge. Especially enlightening for me was the talk with Nathan Talbot and Laurance Doyle about intelligent design. I hope young readers are inspired by it as much as I have been.

'A FULL PLATE'

I just finished reading the January 16—23 issue, "Peace," and I was very glad to have the extra reading material on my plate. Nothing beats holy work.

GUIDED BACK BY LOVE

I want to thank you for the careful, strengthening, supportive work you are doing for all of your readers, and really for all of mankind. I have recently returned to reading the periodicals after a prolonged absence, an absence sparked in large part by my fear over the many changes the Christian Science periodicals have encountered in recent years.

As I read articles from recent editions, I see that the same Love-guided efforts have always been present in the desires of the writers and editors to share the Christ, Truth, with the world, and that can only bless us all.

Love has guided me back to the periodicals, and I appreciate them now as never before.

WHO'S GOVERNING?

My sincere gratitude to Richard Bergenheim for his inspiring thoughts in his article "How strong are your political views?" in the issue of February 6 ["The metaphysical medicine that heals colds"]. He seemed to be speaking directly to me. What he said really shook me up, because I would never have admitted to myself or anyone else that I was thinking negative thoughts while at the same time praying daily to know and understand God. Mr. Bergenheim really set the path to spiritual thinking. How wonderfully comforting to accept that the "government is upon His [God's] shoulders."

THE BEAUTY OF CREATION

It was so heartening to see the picture of the new mural, published in the Items of Interest of the issue of February 13 ["Anger—not just managing it"], that is on the wall of the nursery of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Shreveport, Louisiana.

This mural I know will become the centre of ideas, and the point of conversation for the little ones to share about God's creation and about H beauty and bounty, which the artist has brought out in he painting. Having a pomegrai ate tree in our backyard, I ca relate to this mural very mucl

DON'T TAKE IT IN!

The article by Tom Black, "St 'No Sale' to the selling of siclness" ["The selling of sickne—don't buy in," February 20] the most wonderful expose o the blatant attempt of the media, advertisers, and medic world to "sell" mankind o everything detrimental to h well-being. The mute button c the television is a minor way 1 prevent some of this indoctrintion, but people's conversation about this propagane is hard to "snuff out."

I can't wait to share this issue with a friend who takes in a these "lies." I often try to tell me friends who aren't Christian Scientists, in a loving way, that the don't have to take in as "gospel everything they hear or real Thanks again for this awakenin
