Our band decided to help

I have been playing classical guitar ever since I was five. I practice the guitar every day for about an hour. For me, it's the highlight of my day!

Last year I formed a band with three other guys from my class at school. Our band is called ETM, which stands for "Enjoy the music." I play the electric guitar and do lead vocals. My friends play the guitar, the bass, and the drums. We practice every Friday after school and play classic rock songs by people like the Beatles, the Eagles, Eric Clapton, and Tom Petty. We like getting together, but sometimes learning new pieces can be hard. And some days we just want to take too many breaks and not work at it. But when we stick with it, we do feel pretty satisfied.

I like to discuss Christian Science with my friends, and they all know one of my favorite quotes from Science and Health, which is, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (p. 494). To me, this means that divine Love, which is another name for God, directs all of our actions and helps us perform well and support each other. When we are playing our instruments, we can put our hearts into the music and express the intelligence, creativity, persistence, and strength that God has given us.
