'WHAT ARE SOME SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS THAT HELP YOU MAINTAIN CONSISTENTLY GOOD HEALTH?'
By Annu Matthai Vienna, Austria
For more than 25 years now, I have relied on Christian Science to maintain consistently good health for myself and my family. Whenever I'm not feeling very well, no matter whether it is a tickle in the throat, a general feeling of discomfort, or even intense pain, I turn to the ideas in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, which contains a complete explanation of Christian Science.
Over the years, I have found this advice particularly helpful: "When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought" (p. 495). As soon as I'm tempted to believe that I am falling ill, I follow this advice and focus my thoughts on the good nature of God and on my identity as "His idea"—His very likeness.
