MANY WATERS

John Scott

Cannot quench love,
Neither the floods drown it.See Song of Solomon 8:7.
Floods of fear cannot drown compassion.

Noah's dove discovered
In the vast flotsam
A branch of hope in the depths of despair.

Out of the wilderness
John saw the dove descending
And resting as the Saviour among men.

To those drowning in dread,
Christ said, "Peace, be still."
And there was a great calm.See Mark 4:39

Let that dove still be,
And that storm be still.
