KNEE PROBLEMS HEALED AFTER FALL

It was the last snowstorm of the winter, and I was shoveling a path out to the bird feeder. I didn't realize there was a slick sheet of ice beneath the snow, until I found myself slipping. When my feet went out from under me, my full weight went to my knees, which bent sideways in an unnatural direction.

I was in excruciating pain, but managed to roll and crawl to the front door and alert my wife to my situation. She helped me inside and onto a couch, where I tried to calm down and start thinking about the situation spiritually. I prayed, reminding myself of spiritual truths from the Bible and Science and Health, and trying as best as I could to know that God is Love and I am His reflection.

When my thought quieted down, I reached for copies of the Sentinel, as well as The Christian Science Journal, to find articles with reassurances of God's promise of spiritual healing. I kept turning to God and away from the pain, because I knew that from the standpoint of God, rather than the problem at hand, brings healing. I've always found this approach effective.
