"ON OCTOBER 6, 2005, in an event called 'Fiesta de los Medios' (a media fest held in Buenos Aires, Argentina), the Association of Social Communicators of Buenos Aires (ADECOS) will award a Golden Eagle to the Spanish-language radio broadcast of El Heraldo de la Christian Science. The award recognizes distinction in the category of religious programming/spiritual journalism.

"ADECOS is a prominent association in Buenos Aires encompassing media that deal with community issues. As described on its website (www.aguilasadecos.com.ar), ADECOS was founded 11 years ago to encourage rising journalists to have a 'deep respect for each citizen of Argentina.' At an annual awards event, ADECOS recognizes media communicators in 60 categories—28 for 28 for radio, 24 for TV, and 1 for print publications, including websites.

"The category in which the Spanish Herald broadcast is being honored recognizes 'individuals or institutions that go beyond the boundaries of usual journalistic activity into the delivery of spiritual, encouraging messages to the public—embracing the community of the Americas.' "
