FORWARD TO NORMAL

W hen the peace is disturbed, either by a natural disaster such as Hurricane Katrina, or war, crime or disease, it's natural to yearn for things to get back to normal. And while peace and harmony are desirable things, spiritual progress demands that there be transformation of thought and character in the direction of spiritual perfection. And that direction is always forward.

No matter how much progress has already been made, as long as there appears to be limitation of any sort, greater and more lasting peace lies ahead as we witness more of the absolute perfection of the spiritual reality that underlies all human experience.

Christian Science maintains that this spiritual perfection is the standard against which all normality must be measured. It is the concomitant of an absolute and infinite Creator. Anything less than this standard carries the fatal flaw of unreality, the negative number that always diminishes the result of a sum if not offset by its opposite.
