A hymn at the mosque
Ankara, Turkey
YESTERDAY I WENT TO STAND OUTSIDE THE MOSQUE for a funeral. Our friend had passed on suddenly. My husband, my son, and I were there to comfort the grieving family. Lots of wailing.
It was cold. It was raining. Heavily. The sky was bleak. People were milling around the courtyard. Some had umbrellas. Some didn't. My husband had one. I had one. Raining. Heavily. Lots of puddles.
