a web sight to remember
I was e-mailed and voice-mailed out. I needed a change of pace. From my bedroom, I wanted to watch the sun rise over the sea in the morning and drop slowly into the ocean in the evening.
It was possible. I have friends with a beach house on a promontory where that really does happen. (The upper bedrooms have windows on both sides, with views of the water looking east and west.) And through their kindness, I was soon there. I'd successfully escaped for a week from the whirl of life in the city.
On the first morning, a dazzling red sun worked its magic. It wriggled its way across the bay and cast its warm light across my face. In a matter of minutes I was downstairs and out on the front deck. Stretched out on a lounge chair, I listened to the whisper of the wind in the scrub pines. The call of a cardinal came persistently through bending, shining sea grasses.
