I wish to thank you for the article by Michael Noyce titled "More than a footrace in Johannesburg" [November 17]. He is one of God's gentlemen. He made me feel how grateful I should be. Like him, I have been, and still am, active in sports such as running and swimming. I am now in my 92nd year.
I have been a Christian Scientist all my life and take great joy in practicing its teachings every day, just as an athlete trains conscientiously to become a champion. I have tremendous admiration for Mary Baker Eddy and the Cause she established.
