Stay out of the rough
This is the story of two former golfing buddies; let's call them Harry and Ned. I loved them both, dearly. I've since given up the game. But when I used to play, I always admired Ned's inner poise and calm.
Ned had been a combat fighter pilot. He'd seen a lot. And it was always my take that Ned had gained a real sense of inner peace, having had to sort through his war experiences.
Harry was a good guy, too. But on the golf course, Harry and Ned were opposites. Harry let the game push him around. Ned didn't.
