Your insights
In order to surf, you need a solid board to stand on. In Christian Science you need to put both feet on solid ground (Truth). In order to surf, you need waves to ride. In Science, you need to set out on "the ever-agitated but healthful waters of truth" (Science and Health, p. 254). In order to surf, one must paddle to stay out of rip currents and to stay near the break. In Christian Science, it is necessary to pray to be free from error and stay focused on the Christ. As you stand on the board on the water, you do so to glorify God. As you progress Spiritward, you do so to glorify God!

Prayer is not just saying certain words in the same old way. Prayer is cleaning out the clutter in our thinking to make room for thoughts from God that tell us who we really are. We have the right, at any time, to joyfully welcome "the angels of His presence"* (Science and Health, p. 174), and to be delighted that these spiritual qualities are, in fact, always a part of our real spiritual being.
