Church starts with one
The fortress-like granite church perches close to an exit ramp on the turnpike just west of Boston. As you speed by, you can read the huge sign affixed to the building. "For Sale, Rent, or Lease"—and then a phone number. Once, this must have been a thriving church filled with earnest congregants. Today, it's an empty shell—a massive advertisement for a local real estate firm. And a poignant reminder that church attendance all over the world is in steady decline.
If someone like Paul were to write a letter to the churches today—in the vein of the ones the apostle wrote 2,000 years ago—what would he or she say?
