The Sentinel asks . . ."What is evil?"
I define evil as the acts of people against people, or things which are hurtful. Evil is those acts that keep good from occurring.
Marie Green
Sacramento, California
Evil is morally bad or wrong. It is when another causes ruin, injury, pain, or harm to someone else. It is also anger or hate. It is wickedness. . . .
I feel that evil is more prevalent to me now that I am considered a senior citizen. Not to feel powerless, I search and study the Scriptures for answers to community conflicts and national troubles. It seems important for me to think about Matthew 6:13: "And lead us not into temptation." I just can't accept that God has left us to face these challenges to His power alone. The Lord's Prayer is divided into seven petitions, and the seventh one is about deliverance from the power of evil. I think that we need to pray and expect deliverance.
