Self-image in the mud
HER YOUNG SON suffered a severe concussion in his first game as a quarterback. Everyone in the crowd fell silent—except her. Not caring what she was wearing or how she looked, she stormed onto the field, while officials, coaches, and players parted "like the Red Sea" before her.
This was how singer/songwriter Babbie Mason grabbed an audience last month with a story about self-image.
Mason described how she knelt down in the mud and prayed aloud over the unconscious boy, asking that God would revive him. Within a minute or two, his eyes opened—very slowly. She leaned forward as he looked up into her anxious face.
