Trust in the power of God

Translated from French I take joy in this opportunity to express my gratitude for being acquainted with Christian Science, and I say with the Psalmist, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" (Ps. 103:2). I've been a Christian Scientist since childhood, and I've received countless benefits from putting its teachings into practice.

About two years ago I had a healing that demonstrated to me the power of God, the power of Truth. One day I fell onto a concrete slab, landing on both knees, and I felt a horrible pain in one of them. I picked myself up and got myself home, as best I could; I wasn't able to bend my leg. I immediately began to pray, and I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me by praying for me. She showed me a lot of love.

Healing came when the fear I had of never walking normally again was replaced by a deep trust in God's all-power. This passage from Science and Health inspired me very much: "Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God" (p. 228). I certainly had a profound desire to acknowledge that God governed my whole life—including my mobility.
