Thankful to be well
During the Thanksgiving holiday break three and half years ago, my uncle, aunt, and cousins came over to stay with my family. They had the flu, and my mother and I were praying to see that we were all in God's care. We stated out loud that this was the truth.
The day before Thanksgiving, I started to feel sick. I told my mom about it, and she prayed with me. We kept stating the Bible words, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Ps.46:10). We also called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. He told me to open up my hymnal and look at the first hymn I saw. While reading it (Christian Science Hymnal, No.412), I started to become calm. I went through it about three or four times and finally started to analyze what the words meant. I also read Mary Baker Eddy's poem that beigns,
Saw ye my Saviour? Heard ye the glad sound? Felt ye the power of the Word?
