From dependency to freedom
To Have The Poise, stamina, and courage as well as the inspiration to face the demands of the day—no matter how challenging they are. To feel that we are connected with others. These are important elements in a full and successful life.
But when life's events descend on us and we are faced with big challenges, then finding just one of these elements can seem problematic. We might then wonder: How can I find, within myself, all the resources I need?
This is when the idea of relying on something beyond ourselves sounds promising. But what will that something be?
Some look to stimulants like alcohol, and find temporary relief. But they often discover that eventually the relief is followed by a greater feeling of inadequacy and emptiness—a void that no stimulant can fill.
In this week's issue, people tell about their journey from dependency to freedom. These people have found beyond their own personal resources a spiritual reality that is the source of all true contentment, strength, and inspiration.
Their stories point us to this reality, which brings the fullness of life we all deserve.
