"They shall bear thee up in their hands"
During a riding lesson in the summer of 1996, my horse spun around in a 180-degree pirouette. I was thrown to the ground and landed flat on my back. I felt that something had been torn in my lower back, and at first it was hard to breathe.
While still lying on the ground in a lot of pain, I realized that no matter what was happening, I could simply never be tossed around while in God's care.
With the help of my two young children, I was able to get to the car and drive the 30 miles to our home. I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me. I asked for help in understanding that I could rely on the same idea that had come to me when I was lying in the ring at the barn.
