"Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take." MARY BAKER EDDY
Take a look at what you're doing
I had just graduated from college and was talking with a friend about what to do next. My plans for going to graduate school had ended abruptly after I'd received several rejection letters.
The last thing I wanted to do was to go back home and live with my parents! So I was unhappily working at a small company with this friend. Half jokingly, he said that if only God would give us a clear sign — like a large blazing arrow hanging high in the sky — then deciding what to do with our lives would be much easier. Soon I discovered that God does give us answers, but often in a different way.
As I was thinking about my next steps, I came across a short article written by Mary Baker Eddy titled "The Way." It talks about three stages of growth in becoming more Godlike and experiencing God's healing and transforming effect on our lives: self-knowledge, humility, and love (see Miscellaneous Writings, pp. 355-359).
