FROM KAZAKHSTAN: A starting point for peace
ON OCTOBER 9, Russ Gerber, of Sentinel Radio, talked with Nailya Tokesh of Almaty, Kazakhstan, to find out how she's been praying for the world in recent weeks.
Russ Gerber: Nailya, your country is so close to Afghanistan—we're interested in your thoughts on events there recently.
Nailya Tokesh: I think that this violence is not right. I like what it says in the Bible, in Matthew: "I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also" (5:39). I also like the idea in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "At all times and under all circumstances, overcome evil with good" (p. 571). I think we have to do this.
