"Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take." MARY BAKER EDDY

God's care—from university to "the uttermost parts of the sea"

Many years ago, after graduating from high school, I was preparing to leave my home, family, friends, and community to attend a university many miles away. For the first time, I felt I would be totally on my own, completely responsible for my own actions—succeeding or failing—at the university and in my life. My boss that summer sensed my apprehension. He lived his life each day with the perfect model of Christ always first in his thought. With great brotherly love, he told me about God's ever-presence.

He gave me a reprint of an article from The Christian Science Journal entitled "God's Law of Adjustment" and a copy of Science and Health. This material explained the omnipresence of God and His law. I learned that I was not and never would be separated from God and His goodness. The understanding of life I learned was like the voice of God speaking directly to me. The peace and calm I felt convinced me that what I was reading was true and real, and I felt myself living under the guidance and protection of the all-powerful Father-Mother. I saw that the love, protection, and guidance my parents had provided for me until then only hinted at the infinite love that God gives us always.
