Step by step with God
During my college years, my family went on a vacation to Hawaii. One day we hiked into a beautiful mountainous area near the coastline. After we'd walked about two miles, my parents decided to stop and wait while my brother and I went on to the end of the trail, another mile and a half or so.
As soon as we left our parents, my brother decided to race to the end of the trail and back. I didn't mind being left alone, because the scenery was magnificent, the day glorious, and the path well marked.
As I neared the end of the trail, I met my brother racing back to our parents. After a short rest, I got up to make the return trip, but suddenly a muscle in my leg became so painful that I could barely put any weight on it.
