Insect stings healed
Recently, I was in the front yard watering some plants, when I felt an unbelievable pain in my finger. At first I felt stunned, because I didn't know what had happened. I quickly realized that I had been stung. Just before this, I had been doing some spiritual studying and was feeling very close to God. I was able to say immediately, "This never happened," meaning that this never touched my real, spiritual self.
I remembered what Science and Health says about accidents: "Accidents are unknown to God ..." (see p. 424). I reasoned that if this is true, they are also unknown to the image and likeness of God. I also thought about what she said in the same book about God's creatures: "All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible" (p. 514). I saw that this little creature was moving in the harmony of Science, as I was, and it was harmless. Immediately, the pain stopped as suddenly as it had started. I felt so grateful, and went back inside to prepare dinner. As I was standing there preparing the meal, I started thinking about what happened and how I was healed. All of a sudden, the finger started throbbing again. Then I mentally asserted that nothing had ever changed in the kingdom of God. With that, the throbbing stopped, and that was the end of that.
Later that evening, I went to my daughter's house to sit with my grandsons. When I got there, the three-year-old was asleep on the couch, and I was told that he had been stung on the bottom of his foot by a bee.
