Successful re-entry into the workplace
"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health, p. vii). These words came to me when I was having difficulty finding employment. While caring for my children, I had been out of the job market for many years. Instead of feeling reassured by these words, however, I was tempted to scoff at their message. I thought,
"Surely nothing will happen today, because it's Sunday afternoon."
I no sooner had that thought than the telephone rang. It was the father of one of a fellow church member. He wanted to talk with me about the possibility of my working for him and asked me to meet him at his office that afternoon. When he described the job to me, it sounded like a good opportunity, and I accepted it.
