"Church attendance in the City [London's financial district] has been rising strongly. Last year 7% more people turned up for services. Attendances the year before grew by 10% and there has been a steady rise since the mid-nineties," reports Lisa Buckingham of the Financial Mail on Sunday.
One of the main reasons given for the increased attendance was the growing realization that material things are not the source of happiness.
