Eye injury quickly healed

A number of years ago, I was playing in a pickup basketball game when one of my friends accidentally elbowed me in the eye. The other players were alarmed at the appearance of the wound, and told me that I would need stitches to close the cut.

I went home and looked in the mirror. The eyelid indeed looked a bit alarming, with a wide cut about three quarters of an inch long. I sat down and began to study references from the Bible and Science and Health dealing with wounds, accidents, and the like. After a time, I came upon a statement from Science and Health that reads, "The divine Science of man is woven into one web of consistency without seam or rent" (p. 242). This seemed very illuminating, speaking as it did about our freedom from accident and the consistency of our experience, and basing these ideas on the spiritual facts of existence.
