The resplendent rainbow in everyone

A little boy named Jimmy used to admire a picture in his grandparents' front hallway of his mother holding a baby. Jimmy thought he was the baby, although the baby was actually his older brother. Well, one day his brother explained to him the truth about the picture. For years after that, whenever Jimmy passed that picture he would say, "It's not me!"

A lot of pictures that we think are of us, aren't. Pictures of ourselves as sick or tired, poor or unhappy, aren't spiritually correct pictures. True, healing views of us are pictures of a very different nature. The Bible offers countless views like this. In fact, it could itself be seen as a unique picture album containing portraits and representations of the expression of God. It teaches that God is Spirit and that He actually created each of us in His "image" and "likeness" (Gen. 1:26). Whatever images God, whatever is His likeness, is spiritual, harmonious, healthy. You are this perfect likeness, because God, who is infinitely good, could never create a sick or tired or poor or unhappy image of Himself. And that is who you are. His image and likeness. This is your, and everyone's, true picture!
