Injured shoulder healed
One morning last winter when I was walking out of the house to get the mail, I suddenly slipped on our icy driveway. I was completely upended and fell hard on my left shoulder. There was a loud cracking sound, and I was stunned for a moment. When I came to, the first thing I said was "Help! God, help me!" I knew that God is an ever-present help. The Psalmist said, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (46:1). With great effort I was able to get back on my feet and into the house, where I sat in a chair for the rest of the day.
Every time I really grasped this truth, the pain ceased.
