Parents, teachers, and school administrators have been looking into, and in some cases experimenting with, a number of options related to school safety. One is the use of detection devices and extra protective measures at schools: metal detectors, locker searches, drug detectors, along with encouraging the reporting of suspicious behavior, and the like. While these actions may be helpful to some extent, many people wonder what the long-term effect would be on an environment that should be nurturing trust and building confidence.
Another option? Some parents and teachers have not only become more involved with their children and more aware of their activities, but they've been more active spiritually as well. They do a lot of praying. That's because they've seen concrete evidence that their prayers, their spiritual intuition, and their understanding of God have positive results.
For example, in this week's Sentinel, you'll read of one mother's spiritual approach to improving the educational experience for her children. You'll also hear from a teacher on what effect her genuine love for the students had on an incident of disruptive behavior. Plus, a mother and her two daughters tell how they prayed when faced with serious threats at school. It's all part of our "Back to school" Special Report.
Enjoy 1 free Sentinel article or audio program each month, including content from 1898 to today.
