Because God isn't lost
End absentmindedness through prayer.
Who can lose God? That's a laugh. How could God be lost? God is omnipresent—how could you lose or misplace something that BIG? God is omnipotent—how could you uproot something that powerful? God is omniscient—how could you confuse the All-knowing? Impossible.
When I used to take care of children for another family, I occasionally left the newspaper on top of the car while making sure that all the children had everything they needed for the day and that the baby was in her car seat, happily fastened in. I would then notice pages of the daily news flying in the breeze in the rear-view mirror. Also, there was the time the children's umbrellas flew with the paper. And one day, upon reaching my destination, I realized that I had set my purse on top of the car, and it had tumbled off somewhere along the way. It was returned. I felt very fortunate. Hard as it is to believe, within a few days I did the same thing again: set the purse on top of the car and drove away.
Now when I remember the incident I laugh. Because at this stage I was about to learn a lesson that would open doors much bigger than the doors of the Subaru, and would far surpass the value of the contents of that wallet.
