YOUR LETTERS

"The periodicals continue to provide constant guidance, for which I am most grateful."

I am writing to express my gratitude for the Christian Science periodicals that I have regularly received during my thirteen years of working in the Far East, ten in the people's Republic of China and the past three in the northeast of Thailand. They have provided me a principle to which I have been able to turn in times of both moral and emotional confusion.

When I was facing the end of my employment in China, I was about to turn sixty and was receiving few replies to my letters of application and resume. During this time of worry, I received two issues of the Sentinel at the same time. I generally waited until after lunch to open such mail, but something impelled me to open them immediately. In one was an article about finding right employment and in the other an article about never being too old to serve. I ceased to worry and knew the right job would materialize. After my job ended, I still had not found a job. Still confident the proper employment was available, I flew to Bangkok, and within two hours of arriving at the Education Ministry, I was lovingly guided by strangers to the right division and was offered a newly instituted contract teaching position, and the age limitation of sixty was waived.

The periodicals continue to provide constant guidance, for which I am most grateful.
