Prayer heals leg injury

Recently, while I was skiing in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, I had an opportunity to prove that wherever we are or whatever the circumstances, God is "a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1). As I enjoyed joyous freedom on well-groomed runs, I consciously affirmed that God was right there with me, especially on the more challenging runs. As a "senior," I aggressively affirmed that age has no reality, power, or evidence to control God's man. Man is watched over and cared for by God and is not subject to accident or chance, no matter how much they are advertised. Man, who is wholly spiritual, cannot be out of control.

The next day the weather dramatically changed. It was blizzardy, but my companion and I were still having great fun skiing with a young instructor who was showing us some basic racing techniques. Because of the storm, the runs were not well-groomed (packed and smooth), but had heavy powder snow on them. All went well until on a relatively flat stretch I caught an edge and spun around and was down. Such a fall while skiing is not an unusual occurrence, and through the years I have fallen many times. I got up and reassembled and continued the day skiing, apparently with no alarming effects from the fall.

But that night I could not lift my leg. The upper groin muscle did not work. I could slide my foot, but I couldn't pick it up. The condition was the same the next morning, but I was able to slide my ski boot on and ski in the amateur race as we'd planned.
