Hearing restored to normal
One summer while I was in college, my hearing diminished. I could find no cause for this sudden change, and it was difficult to function in my job. I realized that what I needed to listen to—actively listen to—was the Word of God. During church services, I made a conscious effort to really listen to the Lesson-Sermon (found in the Christian Science Quarterly) as I never had before. I did this for three weeks. At the end of that time, my hearing was restored. I was not aware of any physical change, but to this day my ability to listen actively in church has remained. Shortly after this, I was required to complete a rigorous physical examination. The examiner remarked on the excellence of my hearing.
